Halloween falls during Sun in Scorpio for a REASON, y’all.

October 30, 2009

Everyone has been really excited that Saturn has finally gone into Libra, and it is kind of an exciting thing, really, considering that Saturn is exalted in Libra. I’ve been reading a lot about finding balance in relationships, rediscovering the importance of fairness, taking beauty seriously- all very good stuff. It’s sweet but not too sweet, like salty caramel.

HOWEVER. The Sun and Mercury are still in Scorpio and in a wide-ish sextile with Pluto. And the Moon and Mars are currently in a fire trine. And tomorrow is Halloween for God’s sake, you guys! Come on! Saturn will be in Libra for a LONG time. Let’s enjoy some dark and scary and definitely NOT pretty while it’s traditionally appropriate.

Here are some treats:

I will be back later this week with a meaningful post on Saturn in Libra, because believe it or not, I have quite a bit to say about it. All is not quiet on the Saturn front lately.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

  1. Happy Halloween, Lucy :) !

  2. Looking forward to your Saturn in Libra, post, darling Luce.

I have Pluto in Libra in the 7th: wonder what Tr Saturn will bring when it conjuncts that Pluto. Oh, boy!

  3. Hello again Lucy,

Yeah, I gotta agree with that – all is definately not quiet on the Saturn front here! Have Jupiter conj. Saturn in Libra (12th house) natally at 1 and 3 degrees respectively and am just hitting my first Saturn return! Saturn and I are old friends by now (he’s taught and continues to teach me much) but I have still found the movement of Saturn into Libra has had some very significant effects for me. Naturally, my SR has made me think about the ways in which I am crystallizing – the ways that I am maturing and finally coming into my own. There are elements of my life that are passing away from me now, but I know they are things that no longer serve me and am trying to work instead at building up the things in my life that will make a difference for me in the long haul. It’s certainly been no small challange, but understanding the reasons behind some of the difficulties I’ve been facing has made it easier in some respects because it allows me to have a level of acceptance. I am someone who is eternally “looking for the lesson” which is why Saturn and I have become so well-acquainted over the years. Needless to say, your forthcoming article on Saturn in Libra is eagerly awaited! I’m glad you have a lot to say about it – Saturn is such an important planet to our development. I think it will be enormously helpful, not only for those who have Saturn in Libra natally, but for everybody. I often find that I write considerably more about Saturn in the natal chart than I do about other planets. It’s not that I do this consiously, it’s just that I seem to have a lot to say about this planet. It makes me quite happy to hear that you do as well! As always, I’m really looking forward to reading more and am glad to hear that you’ll be focusing your tremendously insightful abilities on explaining this transit in depth. BTW, found your November post on the astrology of Herculine Barbin very thought-provoking. What a difficult time period for Herculine to have lived in. Even in today’s modern age it is only marginally better for those who may not fit society’s traditonal expectations of gender and sexuality. Hopefully in educating others about this case it will help to promote better understanding of the many layers that compose these complicated issues.
    -Alethea.
